Was it all some mad dream, some fevered vision that I was indexed but a fortnight ago and disappeared oh so quickly from the good graces for the cherished Boise Idaho Real Estate?

Naw, it happened. And of course I disappeared, what did I think I was going to big hammer my way into the hallowed halls of page one over night with three lousey blog posts and a killer sense of style? Well, yeah maybe I did for a minute, lets be honest Iderho is a pretty small punch bowl…

It’s not that I lost interest, it’s that I just did not have the time to keep it going. Been building sites for new clients, muy development for the main boss, traveling a bit even, getting ready to launch TWO businesses officially (Idaho Gold Trips for one)…busy busy bunny!

BUT! It wasn’t a total loss dear followers, I learned a bit more about how search engines see thing, how they are getting smarter (and dumber). Honing that edge, that’s what it was REALLY all about. Plus it’s not like I exactly back linked this thing for Boise Idaho Real Estate anywhere…and that proved a big point too: incoming links are VITAL if you want the competitive edge in SEO.

Ok ok yeah yeah so maybe it IS harder to work 80 hours a week and keep up with a daily blog... But then again, it’s not that I haven’t been blogging about Boise Idaho Real Estate, it’s just that I haven’t been doing it here. ; )

Actually though it’s looking like Homes in Meridian Idaho is quickly becoming a VERY sought after keyword. I’ve had three REALTORS® approach me in the last month wanting to reach the hallowed heights of page one for those related phrases.

EAGLE Idaho homes is actually a really pretty good one, but quickly filling up as more and more real estate agents start figuring out even they can type words into a box if thats all it takes to stay competitive online. (it’s not)

Make no mistakes, BIG HAMMER SEO methods still work, and will get you results - especially if your competition is low – but it’s the masturbatory cocaine of the seo world. It won’t keep you up in the long run my friends. Well, unless you’re trying to rank for something like Purple Zebra Hacksaws or Taupe  Linux Shoes…ahem.

I haven’t checked the SERP on this project lately. Hell, I had friends drop in from OKC, then from California and got a bit of Idaho gold prospecting done – so I’ve actually NOT been plugged in to a box 14 hours a day. It’s been kinda nice. One last cool fact, despite not knowing my current serp this website DID show up in a Google Alerts for Boise Idaho Real Estate…

Boise Idaho Real Estate Results

So, interesting results continue from this Boise Idaho Real Estate experiment. Within 30minutes of the last related post it was placed #594 for the targeted keyword, the first post (which had been #488) was completely gone from the top 1000. The next morning the second Boise Idaho Real Estate post was positioned at #544, but then by this morning (24hrs) it has now completely disappeared from the search results on Google altogether. [No I have not checked bing and yahoo because quite honestly its already amazing that I fit time to do this into my schedule - which brings us to one of my main points of doing this whole thing]

You see I am experimenting here to see what it would take to generate organic search engine results from a subfolder, fairly unadvertised blog, that has no relevance to the targeted keywords Boise Idaho Real Estate. Along the way I am learning many of the subtle things can effect ones SERP that most “big hammer” “seo gurus” miss out on altogether because they don’t take the time to EARN that title.

I work as a coder, seo, and designer some 80+ hours a week and all the time I hear clients who want results, who want to rank but who are “too busy” to blog. This little experiment will hopefully shut a few of them up, if nothing else showing you CAN get results from quality blogging – even when the cards are stacked against you – especially if you are persistent and consistent in your writing. Or I’ll fall flat on my face, in which case not very many people are watching anyway.

It doesn’t take long, god knows if I can find time to do this for “fun” they could find time to do it for business…Granted, I am always glad to offer blog writing services in Boise but I also want to let people know they CAN do this themselves. Thats the beauty of the current internet from a marketing standpoint: the business owners failure or success can very much be up to them, and be nearly cost free if they take the time to do it themselves.

Gotta cut this one short, its awful early for the Bunny to be awake and prolific. I will keep ya’ll posted on and SERP results from this post. (point of interest: this blog already has shown up in “google alerts” results…but i’ve always been suspicious of how much klout those really merit)

Why Boise Idaho Real Estate?

This whole Boise Idaho Real Estate thing is REALLY all in fun mind you. I’m not doing it maliciously. Just an experiment, and if it works, maybe to prove a point: that anyone can get to the glorious #1 in Google if they show a little persistence and use a little know how.

I chose the keyword phrase “Boise Idaho Real Estate” for the simple fact it is one of the MOST targeted keywords in the boise real estate industry, despite the fact that in truth VERY few consumers probably search for it. The phrase has been held on a pedestal for so long that people just assumed it was the right keyword to go for rather than something like Boise Homes, or other phrases that are actually searched for FAR more often; have lower keyword difficulty.

You see, it’s about Boise SEO with a little finesse. ANY idiot can be online for a few years and suddenly consider himself a “SEO EXPERT GURU” when really all he can sell is suck…and it never ceases to amaze me how many people BUY IT.

You’ll hear modern SEO’s talk about the big changes at google and how it’s changed the game and I say GOOD! It’ll show those big hammer keyword stuffers that this sort of thing just won’t fly anymore…or WILL it…?

See, I’ve been online since before there WAS a world wide web…and I’ve been marketing online for over the last decade; in that time one thing I’ve learned is find it out for yourself, that’s how you get the results you can trust…and so even after over a decade in the business I don’t proclaim myself master, I am not so arrogant as to say I have nothing to learn about search engine optimization…I say I have yet to begin to learn.

And so in my copious free time, I play on this blog…testing the limits of the mighty engines of the internet here from the darkest shadows of the intraweb.

Just FYI. After the last post this domain ranked #488 in google for “boise idaho real estate“….checked it tonight and it’s nowhere to be found. a ghost in the machine? a google burp? who can say…yer ole pal Jump will work his magic after this post and see if this all too mysterious bug shows again or fades and keep you posted on how the Boise SERP take over is progressing… ah ah ahhhhh….

UPDATE: 20 mins after posting this page ranked #594 for Boise Idaho Real Estate….verrrry interesting….

And so it begins, one bunnies struggle against a seemingly unconquerable sea of adversaries all vying to reach the sinfully sacred shrine of #1 on Google for Boise Idaho Real Estate…

Is it something more than just a pipe dream. A megalomaniacal quest to prove that these would be Boise SEO‘s have NO idea what they are doing and would be better off if they went back to working at the bookstore job their daddies got them…well it COULD be, but I digress.

You see technically you can blog about ANYTHING and if you make sure you’ve got a few keywords here like Boise Idaho Real Estate and then write often enough - forgetting ye not the all powerful “canonical urls” amen and glory! can i get a witness! - the search engines will love you.

See, I’m not a Boise  REALTOR – I’m a Boise geek. They don’t call it “programming” for nothing folks! But I’m out to prove a point: don’t listen to some a hole claiming to be an “SEO Expert” talk to someone who actually understands the way the internet and search engines work, who WON’T blow a lot of smoke up your ass, and who will charge you REASONABLY so that you’re online marketing in Boise can be affordable AND effective.

Would you let this man get you to #1 in Google?

hello all. welcome once again to the latest installment of the best boise search engine optimization tips and tricks that can help you drive more traffic to your website and see better returns from your digital presence.

you may have heard many SEO’s talking about how meta-data is outdated, old school and no longer a valid way to add extra impact to your website through optimization. i want to take this entry to dis-spell some of those myths.

the only important meta-tag is the title

WRONG. the MOST important meta-tag is the title tag, that IS true. but to throw all the rest out is a case of tossing out the baby with the bathwater. your title tag no doubt has the biggest impact of any of the meta-tags on your site, it should be optimized to contain your most sought after keywords whenever possible.

but the other meta-tags like keywords, description, and abstract all still have a use and add weight to your websites seo if for no other reason than they ARE read and indexed by search engines and thereby count towards your total overall keyword density count.

a little background on meta-tags for the uninitiated

Your three basic tags are: Title, Description, and Keywords. While they are all important many experts argue that your Title tag will carry the most importance of these three. Generally you will want to keep your Title tag down to a maximum of ten words.

Your Description tag is a place for you to display a brief synopsis of your site, or services; generally you will want to keep this down to 20-30 words.

Your Keyword tag is a section of focused words relevant to your site or services – separated by comma’s – and should relate strongly to the market you wish to serve; should be a maximum of 20 words.

these maximum character counts listed above are general guidelines, and it is always good to put your most sought after keywords within those fields in order of importance. but fact is there is no one keeping you from stuffing a thousand words into your description or keyword tags. they will be read and will count towards your overall keyword density count. this is not suggested of course, and if it gets too lengthy (particularly in the description field which appears as part of your sites content when it appears in search engine results) you may run into some problems…but fact is, it can be done and is a bit of a grey-hat way to get some extra SEO juice into your site.

don’t forget the abstract tag

The Abstract META tag is very similar to the description Meta tag, except its an abstraction or a brief summary of the description META tag. Generally the Abstract META tag is a one line sentence which gives an overview of the entire webpage. Although search engines do not as often use this tag, it is a useful complement to search engines that read the first few lines of text of your webpages. point in fact: use it. it gives you just a few extra keywords but every single one counts.

psh. what the hell do i know? you’re listening to some self-proclaimed internet wizard hiding behind the digital moniker of a glitter and fade past of a electronic age no one hardly remembers and you want Boise SEO advice? i can tell you about Gold in Idaho alot easier but…(yeah, i did it, sue me)

it’s a pretty simple recipe, even in the coming age of  “live search results” (altho that IS going to make things interesting!).

EFFORT: the first ingredient most people simply just don’t have the time to put in, don’t know how to apply what they’ve got, are afraaaaiiid of all this “complicated computer stuff”, or take the red pill instead of the blue pill…either that or what i do really IS something special (and you should pay hinsel)…

KEYWORD DENSITY: this is the number of times a word or phrase (keyword/keyphrase) appears within your site or pages content. a higher keyword density CAN give you added “validity” in search engines. some argue this will change with the advent of live search results, and i argue it will stay JUST as valid only that you will have to work much harder to maintain an active, current placement for the keywords you are targetting (watch a twitter search results page, you’ll get the idea)

KEYWORD DIFFICULTY: how many people are trying for “boise idaho real estate” , Boise Web Design or whatever your keyword target is? i could make any domain very quickly and efficiently gain #1 placement in google for the term “purple zebra hacksaws”. don’t believe me? want to bet? (you got my numbers yo!)

so there you have it. put it all together (did i mention there are more specifics to mixing these seo elements, blends, refinements, backlinking….and other…tiny details? to keep from blowing off your fingers…? ah well. here, go play with these matches kid. ) …whip for a week or two and zamm! you got SERP baby. there are enough free social portals out there to create a HUGE flow of content and links to any website you choose to market. put them to use, but use them responsibly – or i will find you and publicly out yo self!! and i won’t deny it, it’s a razors edge to market without being annoying, to create content people might actually read, or even just to roll out of your hole instead of eating carat cake all day…but i digress…
